Bring your own garments

Blackdown Clothing list around 18,000 products in our catalouge / website with a further 10,000 equestrian and medical products available that are not yet listed - however we recognise that sometimes customers want to use a specific brand, items or garment that we simply cannot source, or that certain sports use niche items outide of our offering, what ever the reason we will always try to work with you to achive the best results.

Can't find what you're after? You can bring your own garments in however there are some restrictions. For DTG printing, we require 100% cotton garments (80% cotton / 20% polyester is acceptable as well), for vinyl transfers or digital transfers we can print onto alonst any type of garment and for sublimation, we require white polyester garments.

We only accept garments that are brand new (never worn) due to hygeine reasons.

With any decoration process, things can go wrong so we recommend providing spare garments if possible. Unfortunately items cannot be replaced if anything goes wrong in the decoration process.

What can go wrong and how often does it happen?
Mistakes and problems are rare but do happen if we had to pick a number we would hazard a guess at around 1 in 250 garments having an issue - the type of issues is varied and is dependent on the decoration process selected - but for example some garments mark when heatpressed, a needle can break in the middle of an embroidery and a garment can be destroyed before the machine registers the fault, of course if we have supplied the garment - we simply source another from our suppliers and noone ever knows - however this isnt possible when the customer supplies the garments so we explain it upfront (this page) and we pass that risk onto you.

Bringing Your Own FAQs

Q: How do I place an order if I want to bring my own products?
A: To place an order where you'd like to bring your own garments, please send us an email with all the information and attach your artwork files or any relevant images and we'll get back to you with a quote.

Q: What happens if something goes wrong with one of my garments?
A: If you have provided spares, we will use one of your spares and you will only be charged for the final/correct prints. If however you cannot provide spares and something goes wrong, unfortunately we can't replace your garment but you can choose to supply a replacement or purchase something similar from our product range.

Q: What are the artwork requirements?
A: For DTG printing, we require high resolution (300dpi at 100% size) files in a png format and RGB colour mode however we can accept other files types and convert it for you. If your garment requires digital transfers or vinyl transfers, we require vector artwork in .ai or .eps formats.

Q: Is there a surcharge for using my own garments?
A: Yes - the process of using a customers own garments distrupts our workflow, we often have to test the  logo on a similar fabric first to ensure best results and sometimes need to digitise a logo differently due to the type of material used, as such we do add a small surchage for decorating customer supplied garments.
